A common question I am asked:
"Do you use digital photography?"
Until 2006, I would have said no, the quality is not
as good as film, and I could not print contact sheets, also to give
you high quality prints, I would have had to send them to an outside
laboratory. Now with £10,000 of the latest cameras, computers and printers,
I can do all the work in-house and the quality is even better than film.
The session gives you hard copy contacts just as you would get with
films, and of course those spots that only appear when you have a photo
sessions can disappear.
I think the most important question I’m not asked
is:
"Do you print your own work?"
(please see above)
Answer; Yes. Other photographers
send their negatives or digital images to laboratories or outside printers,
how can they control the quality of the final print, can they darken
or lighten the hair of the client, crop the tree in the background,
they can't, but I can.
Another question I am asked regularly:
"Can I share a session?"
Answer: No, the reason is that if I split a session,
you would get one and a half rolls each. Often the best shots come from
the last roll, when you’ve had nearly 2 hours, to relax
